Ola Gjeilo and dr irene messoloras to perform with Mount Royal Kantorei

Mount Royal Kantorei is excited to welcome world-renowned composer Ola Gjeilo and esteemed conductor Dr. Irene Messoloras to Calgary at the end of November.

The duo will headline a two-day event, called Luminous Night of the Soul, will take place at The Bella Concert Hall and will feature an en-masse choral concert of Gjeilo’s best known music on November 30th. Gjeilo will also perform a solo piano concert at The Bella on November 29th.

Gjeilo said: "I can't wait to visit Calgary for the first time and get to know this great hockey town! I'm also thrilled to be working with all the talented singers we're so lucky to have joining us at the beautiful Bella Concert Hall and to connect with so many passionate musicians and music lovers from the region and beyond."
Gjeilo has been composing music since he was five years old. Born near Oslo in 1978, he moved to New York to study at the Juilliard School in 2001. He now lives with his wife, Dr. Irene Messoloras in Laguna Niguel, California.

Gjeilo is an exclusive Decca Classics artist, and his Decca choral albums include “Ola Gjeilo”, “Winter Songs” & “Dreamweaver”, featuring Tenebrae, Voces8 and the Choir of Royal Holloway, as well as the solo piano albums “Night” & “Dawn”. His global streams have now surpassed 250 million.
